I could probably post on this subject everyday. I call myself a collector of sorts. My house is full of beautiful things. Some may call me a hoarder, yes my husband, but I am not. Really, I am not. So let’s go back to saying a collector of sorts, with procrastinator tendencies, save because I might need it and a large bit of sentimentality. Sometimes I call myself a very young looking survivor of the Great Depression. I had a great grandfather who I cherish who was a survivor of the Great Depression and an original Homesteader in Montana. He had so many treasures in his little dark work shed. I like to think it is his fault I collect.

Back to the subject of Cleaning Out! The tendency to keep stuff around flows into most aspects of my life. But I am in the process, which is long and hard, of working through my items clearing out both physical and mental clutter. Many things have brought me to this moment, I sure I will elaborate as time goes on. One reason though is this website. A refocusing of my time and attention. I always have a lot on my plate so to bring one thing in something else has to go out.

Today was a mental clean out. I had over 30,000 emails. most never opened. I knew this had to be done forever but totally procrastinated. It seems as of late I have to take things in small pieces to not fill with anxiety and get overwhelmed which then cripples me. I am finally learning things about myself. So today I deleted all of them. I figured 99 percent were probably useless and the 1 percent that may have not have been useless I will never know. So they are gone. A big fat 0. I had to do it this way because I could not validate any more time wasted on it The goal going forward is to read and delete, file important ones and unsubscribe to many.

Deep breath. Release. Another chunk of mental clutter gone.
